Quick answers.

How do I launch a cue?

Use a pad key, Space, a mapped MIDI control, OSC or a touchscreen pad. A mouse click selects a pad for Audio Info, waveform edits and Preview. On a touchscreen, tap to launch and tap the same active pad again for fade-out.

How do I pause and resume?

Pause keeps the current cue at its position; Resume continues it. Use the app controls or mapped MIDI/OSC operation. STOP while paused ends the cue silently, and PANIC cuts immediately.

How do I switch between cues?

Space on another ready selection or a mapped MIDI action can fade out the current cue, then start the next one. A different pad key or OSC pad launch is ignored while Program is playing. Program plays one cue at a time, with sequential transitions.

How do I stop immediately?

Use PANIC for an immediate cut. STOP uses the cue’s configured fade-out. Both cancel a pending next cue and automatic Page continuation; repeating STOP does not prolong the fade.

Does TALK control a microphone?

No. TALK lowers and restores the audio playing in Program, with smooth configurable transitions. It does not provide a microphone input or automatically detect speech.

How do I set up private Preview?

Choose a distinct Preview output, run its two-second test and confirm that you hear it separately from Program. Each endpoint uses stereo channels 1–2. If the Preview output is lost, recheck it before starting Preview again.

The cue says PLAYING, but I hear no sound.

Transport and output availability are different conditions. Check the effective Program device and channels, their availability, and the real destination. An active transport can continue after output loss; the UI reports recovery attempts and the effective route rather than assuming audible sound.

How does Page Loop relate to a pad’s Loop?

Page playback plays each prepared cue as part of a sequence, temporarily overriding individual looping without changing the saved option. Preview keeps the cue’s own configuration. STOP, PANIC or disarming cancels continuation.

Can I change a cue while it plays?

With Live Lock off, level, loop and fades may be adjusted under the live rules. Start and end cannot change while that audio is active in either bus. Its identity and position remain protected; replacing, clearing or moving an on-air cue is blocked.

Why does my MIDI button not trigger its cue?

Compare Last received with the mapping’s type, channel and number. Check that the selected input has been applied and the destination is READY. Use momentary/Push operation rather than an unrelated toggle state. A Note release does not trigger, and velocity is not the cue volume.

Do my MIDI controller’s lights show whether a cue is playing?

Controller lights may not reflect playback. Check the cue’s state in LimeSound. After the audio ends or stops, pressing again launches it again.

I’m interested in LimeSound. What next?

LimeSound v1 is coming soon. Email [email protected] and tell us about your workflow and the audio you want to launch. Contact by email is the way to enquire about this initial launch.

A file is missing or changed.

Start with the pad’s reason and Preflight’s location. Do not replace the wrong source just to clear the message.

  1. Check its actual location.

Inspect Audio Info and verify the original file is accessible. Cache data alone does not make a missing source valid.

  2. Relink the original content.

Use Relink when the same file moved. LimeSound checks content identity, not just the name. An ambiguous match requires an explicit choice.

  3. Replace intentionally.

If you want different audio, use Replace Audio. It creates a new assignment with the effective new-cue defaults. A failed change keeps the old assignment; an on-air cue remains protected.

OSC and Windows network access.

Enable network control deliberately, on the trusted network needed for your setup.

Before activating OSC

Each new engine starts OFF, without its OSC reception port open. The toggle is a draft until Apply; Cancel does not activate it. A UI reconnection reads an existing engine session without switching its OSC off.

A Firewall prompt appears

The engine needs permission to receive commands from other equipment. Follow the explanation in Settings and permit only the necessary trusted network. Keep the Firewall enabled. Refusing permission may prevent remote OSC while local audio, keyboard and USB MIDI remain available.

No remote commands arrive

Check the sender’s destination, the applied input port, network reachability and permissions. Then inspect the last received message and action result. A successfully opened local socket does not prove that remote packets arrive.

Start with the OSC setup guide. Do not change system protections to work around an unexplained failure.

Take a Show to another PC.

Collect the media, then check the destination’s real audio setup.

  1. Stop both buses and unlock preparation.

Collect Media requires Program and Preview stopped, with Live Lock off.

  2. Create the collected copy.

Collect Media copies verified audio with the Show and opens the copy silently. The original files and original Show are preserved.

  3. Configure destination outputs.

Outputs are not copied with the Show. Check Program’s mode/device and a separate Preview output on the other PC, then run Preflight and test your controls.

Still need help?

Include the application version, what you tried, the message shown and whether the issue concerns Program, Preview, MIDI or OSC. Keep your audio files and private Show paths out of the initial email.
